If someone has a cardiac arrest\u00a0the first thing to do is call 999. After\u00a0that, applying immediate CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation \u2013 chest compressionand artificial ventilation) and early defibrillation can more than double a\u00a0victim\u2019s chance of survival. This\u00a0defibrillator is recommended by Welsh Ambulance Service and St John\u2019s Ambulance\u00a0and can be used successfully by lay people and bystanders with little or no\u00a0training. Defibrillators are being\u00a0provided throughout the country in public places such as shopping centres,\u00a0hotels and restaurants, schools and universities.<strong><br\/><br\/><\/strong>The\u00a0defibrillator has been provided by the St Harmon Community Council with funding\u00a0from the British Heart Foundation and the Bryn Titli Wind Farm. The Council will also provide training in CPR\u00a0and use of the defibrillator.
