The site was part excavated by CADW in 1991 and a report was subsequently produced. The report suggests that the site was probably inhabited by an extended family group and occupied throughout the year, farming the adjacent arable meadows and the upland pastures. The report was not able to draw out many conclusions. A few fragments of pottery and other artefacts were found but these were not sufficient to provide a meaningful interpretation of the site.
